The jobs that taught me how people think

I studied English Language and Media because I wanted to understand how communication actually works. But some of the best lessons came from the years in between. Coaching gymnastics before breakfast, selling shoes by lunch, pulling pints till midnight, playing an elf in a grotto. Every one of those jobs taught me something about how people think, what makes them listen, and what makes them switch off.
